Hello! We’re Angela and Jonathan, chicken aficionados and purveyors of chicken and quail eggs. We have a flock of 21 chickens and 11 Quail. We love to spoil them and they spoil us with their delicious eggs! We want to share our bounty with the community and expect to have at least 1- 1.5 dozen available every day.
Did You Know?
Chicken eggs have a coating called the ‘bloom’ that protects them from bacteria and keeps the egg safe from outside contaminants. This coating allows the eggs to be counter-stable for a month or more, depending on conditions. They can also be stored unwashed in the fridge for 3 months or more. Please wash your eggs before consumption. Washed eggs have a shorter “shelf” life and must be put in the fridge.
Quail eggs are tiny, but dense with nutrients! With one quail egg you can expect a significant dose of Vitamin B12, Selenium, Riboflavin, and Choline. Against chicken eggs, they are somewhat more nutritious per egg. Fun fact: A quail rooster’s crow sounds a bit like it’s saying “I’m a quail!” They also love to hide under brush and are surprisingly faster than you might think for their size.
